Seabourn has just welcomed guests aboard the Seabourn Venture as it begins its inaugural expedition to the Arctic. This exciting milestone heralds a new era for Seabourn as the company enters the growing expedition cruising market. Seabourn has no intention of getting lost in the crowd of new ships, and they are ready to prove it with the first of 2 panned, feature-packed, exploration yachts. Here are our favorite features of the Seabourn Venture.
The Ship
Before we dive into features, let’s get to know the Seabourn Venture. Seabourn’s engineers and architects set out to build a ship specifically designed for the diverse destinations it will be visiting. The Venture will not be limited to polar expeditions and has an extensive list of tropical and even urban expeditions available worldwide.
This Ultra-Luxury, purpose-built vessel, features 132 luxury suites, all of which include private verandas. In addition to the polar-class 6 hulls required for exploration in the remote polar regions, Venture includes a myriad of modern navigational technologies and merges that technology with the luxury amenities and design that Seabourn is known for. The Seabourn Venture is poised to be one of the best Luxury Expedition vessels on the market.
The Submarines - The next generation of expedition cruising calls for next-generation experiences. Seabourn is upping the ante by including 2 submersible submarines for guests to dive beneath the surface and experience an entirely new dimension of exploration. There is a trend appearing among the top expedition ships on the market. The best ships are pushing the boundaries of discovery with new technology like this.
The Winter Garden Suite- The Wintergarden Suite is Seabourn’s top accommodation fleetwide. As the crown jewel of Seabourn’s new expedition fleet, the venture includes the most unique suite in Seabourn’s fleet. Seabourn has created a loft-style suite with expansive exterior facing views, a cavernous master bathroom, a private bedroom, and living and dining spaces to entertain onboard. The ability to add the suite next door and create the Grand Wintergarden Suite also makes this a very versatile use of space on this small vessel.
The Bow Lounge- an intimate setting in the forward area of the ship, guests can gather in this observation lounge for expansive views off of the bow of the ship. Part of the joy of expedition cruising is the opportunity to experience the marine life of each region you’re sailing. This inviting lounge brings guests closer to the water.
The Constellation Lounge is another great location to gather onboard. This signature bar is an excellent place to meet after the day's shore landing to share stories and cocktails with your friends onboard. The hand-crafted cocktails are all the more enjoyable when combined with the expansive 270-degree views from the lounge’s high vantage point on the ship. It is clear this ship was designed to ensure guests are never deprived of a view.
The Landing Zone is the Venture’s mud-room. This is where guests will gather prior to each shore landing to dawn their boots and parkas (in colder climates). Guests will make use of the available lockers to store their belongings during their exploration. What is most exciting about The Landing Zone, is that it is the launch pad for every potentially life-changing experience guests will have on their cruise. For guests preparing to exit the ship, the anticipation that builds in this room as they brace themselves for the adventure they are about to embark on is palpable.
Perhaps the best feature of the Seabourn Venture is that it is available now. This ship is on the water with guests onboard as you are reading this.
